چکیده

Background: There is a technique in the industry called resin procedures like resin coating. For example, epoxy resin is injected to repair cracks in concrete of 0.2 mm or larger. In addition, a casting product can be strengthened when resin is injected to fill in a blowhole. A vacuum can be utilized to allow the resin to penetrate into every corner. In this study, we investigate whether bonding resin can deeply penetrate with the use of a vacuum. Methods: Six non-carious extracted human first premolars were used. For bonding resin into dentin, one-step adhesive was used. The root of each tooth was cut at the cement and soaked in bonding resin. Immersion was performed under the conditions of atmospheric pressure and vacuum (-70 kPa). The fluorescent dye Rh concentration of 0.1% for confirming resin penetration. Each tooth underwent about 200 polishing and was placed on glass slides. Images of the completed specimens were obtained by fluorescent microscopy. Results: The dyed resin that penetrated into the dentin tubules under vacuum formed a long and dense resin tag. On the other hand, the dyed resin that penetrated into the dentin tubules under atmospheric pressure formed a sparse and unformed resin tag. Conclusion: This study suggests that a vacuum is effective for deep penetration of bonding resin.

Comparison of depth of dentin etching and resin infiltration with single-step adhesive systems.

OBJECTIVES Adhesion of resin composites to dentin is currently believed to result from impregnation of adhesive resin into superficially demineralized dentin. The purpose of this study was to use micro-Raman spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to investigate the extent of resin penetration into etched dentin with single-step adhesive systems. METHODS Adhesive systems used were...

P96 Technique for Tissue Plastination in Preparing Long-Lasting Anatomical Specimens

Background: Plastination is a technique of long-term preservation of the natural tissues without the typical problems related to wet specimens. Plastinated specimens are durable, dry, and flexible. In this process, the water and fat in biological tissues are substituted by a curable polymeric resin, i.e., subsequently cured. In this study, a new unsaturated polyester resin (P96) was synthesized...

بررسی تأثیر استفاده از رزین هیدروفوب به دنبال کاربرد انواع مختلف سیستم‌های باندینگ عاجی بر نانولیکیج ترمیم‌های کامپوزیتی

Background and Aims: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of applying hydrophobic resin after use of different generation of the bonding systems on nanoleakage. Materials and Methods: 20 third molar teeth were selected. The teeth were randomly divided into 4 groups of 5, each was treated using the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seven generation of dentin bonding. Then, the crown ...

مقایسه استحکام باند برشی Unfilled Resin به مینای خشک و دنتین باندینگ روی مینای خشک و مرطوب

Statement of Problem: The use of dentine bondings on enamel and dentin in total etch protocols has recently become popular. Unfilled resin is hydrophobic and dentin bonding is hydrophilic in nature. This chemical difference could be effective in enamel bonding process. Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare the shear bond strength of unfilled resin to dry enamel and dentin bonding to dry...

بررسی اثرکامپوزیت Light Cure و کامپوزیت Self Cure بر باندگلاس آینومر نوری به عاج دندان (In-vitro)

Statement of Problem: Composite reins have recently become popular for posterior teeth restorations. Gap formation and subsequent microleakage are of the complications resulting from such restorations. One of the techniques to overcome polymerization shrinkage of composite resins is sandwich technique (application of glass ionomer as a base beneath the composite resin). Since polymerization pat...
